The composition is not entirely original since it is an interpretation of a sample painting from a book. The inspiration, however, has been with me in my dreams and memories for so many years and it is only now that I have come to a reconciliation. This is for you, Dad.

Beautiful Mess

It started as a mess but I guess it ended beautifully. My mind was a bit disorganized when I started this piece and so I did a lot of cleaning up.

Recently, I've been playing with oil pastels again. It's been years since I really last used this as a major medium. I would say my perspective was fresher when I first used it 10 years ago. I guess it's not too late to pick up the skill again.

The painting is inspired by a photo I took in San Jose, CA three years ago. My cousin drove me to the hills just so I could have a wonderful view of the sunset. It was worth it and something I can trade for a night party.

On another note, I have this pencil drawing that I finally finished last night. It's not a complicated piece of art but now I can understand better why some people take so long to complete a piece. The mood does contribute a lot.
